Avec un coeur aussi grand que celui de Soeur Emmanuelle et celui de Mère Teresa, la jeune Vendéenne "Yvette" Boyer servira, sous le nom de Soeur Yvonne, les plus humbles jusqu'à sa mort à l'âge de 101 ans.
Dès 1914, à 21 ans seulement, elle s'engage comme infirmière, puis plus tard rejoint les Salésiennes. Après son novicat, elle quitte la France pour l'Inde, nous sommes en 1923.
C'est une chance que Didier Giroud-Piffoz, lors d'un reportage pour le magazine GEO l'ait rencontrée, et soit retourné chaque année en Inde afin de l'interviewer.

We had few means, it was very primitive. Sometimes, to take the temperature, we put a pencil under the armpit of the patient. He thought it was a thermometer... We cured many people. We always pat a little Lourdes water in oar medicines. Our founder had brought medals from the Shrine. He told us : « Put a medal in a bottle and always fill the bottle with water ».
